I. FUNCTIONS AND TASKS

The Department of Education and Training is a specialized agency of Dong Nai Province People’s Committee. It assists the provincial People’s Committee in enforcing the state management in the field of education and training (except vocational training); in carrying out public services within the scope of management of Education and Training Department in accordance with the provisions of the Law; To fulfill duties and to execute authorities which are assigned and empowered by the People’s Committee of Dongnai province. Its duties and authorities are as follow:

• To submit proposals to the provincial People’s Committee for promulgating decisions on and prescriptions for the management of education and training which is the scope of its operation and devolved by the Ministry of Education and Training; To be responsible for the content of the legal documents proposed to the provincial People’s Committee.

• To propose programs, long-term plans, 5-year plans, annual plans, education and training projects which are in line with master plans and socio-economic development plans of the province.

• To submit proposals to provincial People’s Committee for assigning tasks, devolving or empowering administrative powers to manage education and training activities to People’s Committee of district, city, town and other specialized agencies of the provincial People’s Committee in accordance with the provisions of the Law.

• To organize, direct, instruct, inspect and be responsible for the implementation of legal documents on programs and plans to develop education and training in the province; To propagandize, popularize, train law and information on education and training.
