I. Function, Task and Authority:
1/ Function:

Dong Nai Statistical Department is an agency directly under Central Statistical Office, helping the head of Central Statistical Office to manage statistical activities in Dong Nai under regulations of State law. Dong Nai Statistical Department is responsible for manage statistical activities depending on programs, mission plans set by the head of Central Statistical Office and meeting local demand on statistical information for leadership and administration of party and local authority.

Dong Nai Statistical Department directly administered professional competence, special proficiency, personnel, salary fund, and finance of Central Statistical Office.

The Statistical Department is division of Central Statistical Office, equipped with seal and private account in accordance with State regulations.
2/ Task and Authority:

To enforce and manage uniquely statistical activities; collect, synthesize, analyze, promulgate and store data and forecast statistic, conduct mission programs and projects assigned by Central Statistical Office and meet demands on statistical information in the province and comply with administration of leadership levels of the Party and local authority;

To provide statistical skill construction for statistical agencies of Sectors; of enterprises; of communes and wards; instruct and examine statistical professional skill of statistical office districts, towns and city;

To compile and publish statistical yearbooks and other statistical products; uniquely administer promulgation and provision of socioeconomic statistical data in the province according to regulations by Central Statistical Office; be responsible for reliability of statistical data released and provided;

To built up and manage statistical database of provincial socioeconomic; exploit and popularize statistical information publically, quickly and conveniently for all subjects according to regulations by Central Statistical Office;

To carry out statistical services across the province under law regulations an instruction by Central Statistical Office;

To inspect the implementation of law on statistics across the province, assess professional competence according to assigned regulations by Central Statistical Office;

To adopt scientific advance to statistical in an effort to improve, renew statistical methods; do research and apply IT to statistical activities according to regulations by Central Statistical Office;

To manage and organize personnel, labor, salary; recruit and administer statistical co-operators according to assigned regulations by Central Statistical Office; plan to train the local cadres and workers according to criteria of payroll of employee status in statistical sector;

To set up estimate of annual expenditure according to instruction by Central Statistical Office; manage finance, assigned assets and add to budget as assigned by Laws;

Constantly to strengthen local statistical agencies; boost close tie between the statistical department of other departments, sectors in the province and people’s committee of districts, towns and city;

To take charge of other missions assigned by general director of Central Statistical Office and leader of Party and local authority;

Organizing –Administrative office is in charge of organization, training, administration, management and finance.
In terms of personnel management and training

Policy-inspection-emulation office is in charge of policy making, information technology, inspection and emulation.
Function and Responsibility:
