Citizen Science and Technology


To prepare knowledge for the contest "Good Female Cadres in Information Technology Applications," in 2011, on the morning of 15th October, Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in collaboration with the Provincial Women's Union held a training course of information technology for nearly 170 students who are female cadres of the communes, wards and towns of the 11 district units, Long Khanh town and Bien Hoa city.
 
On the morning of October 16, the final round of the citadel building robot contest 2011 was co-organized by the provincial Children's House, Department Science and Technology and Department of Education and Training at the provincial Children's House.
 
To raise awareness and further promote application of information technology in teaching across the province and further innovate methods of teaching and learning in the direction that teacher will carried out self-integration of IT in each subject, Department of Education in cooperation with Department of Science and Technology and other related departments co-organize a contest for teachers who are good at information technology application in 2011 in late November and early December, 2011.
 
On the morning of June 18, Fujioka-Chairman of Vietnam-Japan Economic Forum paid a working visit to Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to study and find out about opportunities to promote investment in Dong Nai Biotech Center. Receiving and working with the delegation were Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai and DOST leaders.
 
Latterly, the specialized Council for Science and Technology wrapped up the project “Building and Developing the Model of Highly Effective Red Flesh Dragon-Fruit in Trang Bom district, Dong Nai province”.
 
On the morning of June 10, at the conference hall of Bien Hoa city Party Committee, Bien Hoa city People’s Committee in cooperation with Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology (DOST) held a conference to deploy 2011 competition movement. Attendees involved over 150 representatives of more than 115 schools, 8 enterprises and 25 administrative agencies in Bien Hoa city.
 
With a desire to create a favorable learning environment for students, help them access subject knowledge in a natural and vivid way, and provide an environment for teachers and students to interact and exchange and for the colleagues to learn about each other’s experience in teaching chemistry subject, the "chemistry learning at home" website has been created to achieve these aims. Success in creating this chemistry website has brought to teacher Bach Thanh Lua from Thống Nhất A High School (Trang Bom district) the third prize of the Dong Nai province 15th technology creativity contest 2010.
 
The National Council for the National Quality Award carried out evaluation of a candidate’s capabilities on October 5. They had a meeting with the Software Development Center Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology (the unit nominated for the gold prize in the National Quality Award this year) to verify and clarify information in its self-assessment report under the seven criteria of the National Quality Award and assessment result of the primarily selecting council to have a basis for the Ministry of Science and Technology to submit to the Prime Minister for the gold prize in the National Quality Gold Award 2011.
 
On the morning of August 11, the fifth National Science Conference was opened at Lac Hong University, with the theme “Basic Research and Information Technology Application" (FAIR 5 for short), involving over 300 scientists and teachers nationwide.
 
The Selection Council of Dong Nai Quality Award, after consideration and evaluation at the meeting of an expert team on July 19, its organization board agreed on results with 11 winners, including 6 enterprises winning gold prize and 5 ones winning the silver prize.
