Dong Nai Center for Informatics and Scientific-Technological Information: operation towards service continues to be boosted

Founded by Decree no. 115 issued by the Government since 2008, Dong Nai Center for Informatics and Scientific-Technological Information has been attempting to develop, running towards service and putting emphasis on finding market to transfer its database.
 

People come to an information site to learn about knowledge for production
With operation towards service on the basis of self-control and self-responsibility, at the beginning of the new year, its officials and employees have been engrossed and enthusiastic in work. By now, its organization machinery has worked stably with four specilized departments and thirty three officials and employees.

At the beginning of 2011, the center was confered a excellent emullation flag by the provincial People’s Committee to recognize achivements that our leadership and employees have accomplished during the past year, giving enormous encouragemnt to spirit of our staff. Looking back at 2010, a year with considerable effort of the whole staff, our center has gained encouraging achievments, says Nguyen Thanh Chin, the center’s director.

Implementing quality management according to ISO 9001:2008 since 2009, in March 2010, it achieved the certification of Quality Management system based on ISO 9001:2008. With its quality policies of the year 2010 including speediness, accuracy, and effectiveness, it undertook effectively its set missions as well as unscheduled ones in this year.

Keeping on implementation of the project to multiply scientific-technological information sites in the province, the center, in this year, raised the number from 56 in 2009 to 79 and put 23 websites of newly established sites into use.

In parallel with multiplication, it also focused on maintaining their operations and raeching effectivity  via renewing its management machinery, contributing to quick multiplication of scientific-technological sites in the province, holding training courses to officials who are responsible for those sites on skills in updating, supplying and exploiting information. Thanks to these channels, local people, especially people in remote and deep-lying areas, have a chance to access scientific and technical advances, apply them in production and life, raise labor productivity, which helps enhance their material and spiritual life.

Le Van Hung, Goc Hamlet, Long An commune says, “Not only do I often come to commune’s information site to go on the internet and learn about new techniques when I have free time, but I also frequently borrow science films here to watch at home and show them to my neighborhood. I learnt a lot about new techniques from these films, from soil cultivating process to cultivation and fertilization and real fruit reaping process that is different from previous experience. Through that, productivity is three times as much as one of three years ago”.     

Moreover, the centre concentrates on establishment of information resources to store more and more information, valuable scientific-technological source serving research and diversify science film resource at information sites to serve people’s needs. In 2010, it recorded 4,325 science-technology videos from channels on television stations. As appointed, the center has managed and developed well websites of the provincial People’s Committee and Department of Science and Technology in the past time. Up to now, website of the provincial People’s Committee has been translated into four languages including English, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese, timely providing information about socio-economic situation, policies, legal documents of the government, the provincial Party Committee, People’s Committee to a majority of people in and out of the province.    

 Periodically, in 2010, it released six issues of scientific-technological information with over 7,800 copies published in and out of the province, serving leadership, dissemination, sharing sci-tech information and improving people awareness about science and technology.

Also, in the past year, it completed unexpected missions well, including cooperation with Software Development Center to set up portal “The Fourth Dong Nai Party Congress, 2010-2015 tenure” and updating information consistently to help it be completed soon and work stably while the congress is working. 

 It has cooperated with Ho Chi Minh city Department of Science and Technology to successfully hold Techmart Dongnai 2010 with active involvement of 288 participating units opening 400 booths attracting almost 20,000 customers to visit and more than 6,000 meetings to interact, exchange and learn about products at booths, 120 memorandum signed by participating units as well as 7 signed contracts of purchase and technology transfer that are worth VND6 billion.

Promoting development of services not only triggered positive, effective and enthusiastic working environment, but also increased income for officials, employees and living conditions of its staff have been enhanced more and more. In the department in service sector like Translation Department, average monthly salary of this staff is about VND4 million to VND5 million, especially VND7 million to VND8 million/month for some.

To maintain and enhance its accomplishments, the center has determined that its main mission is developing unceasingly, running towards service, seeking for market to transfer database and at the same time keeping on consolidating and stabilizing its organization machinery.
