Over 230 Tons of Daily Garbage Has Not Been Collected

Department of Natural Resources and Environment says the province produces nearly 2,100 tons of domestic waste each day. In particular, the amount of collected household waste hits 1,800 tons per day and the rest that has not been collected is more than 230 tons.

Only about 50% of the total
amount of collected waste is treated in conformity with the requirements of
environmental hygiene. The majority of remaining waste is gathered to
spontaneous dumping grounds for landfill or incineration, causing much
pollution to surrounding environment. In particular, the localities which
have much garbage include Bien Hoa city and of Nhon Trach, Long Thanh and
Trang Bom districts.
