Long Khanh Red Cross: More Than Seven Thousand Units of Blood Amassed

Long Khanh Red Cross says since 2003 the association has launched some 40 voluntary blood donation events with more than 7,000 units of blood collected, offering more than 1,100 liters of blood for first-aid and treatment in hospitals.
Regional General Hospital of Long Khanh has formed blood-ready group including over 50 doctors and 70 members of staff and volunteers who are ready to donate blood for emergencies or the situation as disaster strikes. In the past 8 years, the group had donated blood over 800 units of blood, serving over 400 emergencies. Forces of donors in Long Khanh town also contribute to the blood supply for the heart surgeries, which hit 5 to 10 cases each year.
