New regulations on health check-up and illness treatment by health insurance card.

According to the circular concerning the implementation of health insurance validated on 4th September, the insured who have access to health services during days-off, public holidays and outside working hours can also claim their insurance from the insurer. Additionally, some of cases that have their health checked up at unlisted clinics and lack procedures will also be insured as regulated.

The insured has the right to have their health checked up and their illness cured outside working hours, during days-off and holidays when medical facilities are overcrowded. All of the regarded medical costs will be covered by health insurance fund and suit with the scope of insurance rights mentioned in the insurance terms applied for normal working days. To the insured who prefer to choose practicians and wards, the insurance fund will only pay for their check-up and treatment costs following the current price regulated by the government, and the regulated level of coverage.      

 

The patient holding the insurance card can have their health checked up outside working hours. 

 

Especially for the health check-up requiring high-tech service and high cost, the insurance fund would pay in 3 levels such as 100% of coverage to under 6-years-old children, some of nationally credited people, people policemen, some of nationally credited people but not exceeding 40 minimum wage months,…; 95% and 80% of coverage to other groups of beneficiary and the level of payment not exceeding 40 minimum wage months for every usage of that technical service.  

As regulated, the beneficiary will also be provided with cancer cure medicines and unlisted anti-rejection medicines. According to this regulation, the insured who continuously sign over 36-month contract, under 6-months-old children, officers working in Ministry of National Defence, Police, other governmental cadres when retired or transferred to different work will be benefited from the insurance and the payment of 50% of the medical costs will be claimed.
