In the first nine months of 2009: over 120 cases violating Food safety policies are handled

According to the report from Department of Industry and Trade, the Investigation Board on Food safety, on prevention of cattle and poultry epidemic diseases, has inspected 300 units and found out 121 cases violating the policies, paying a fine of VND 103,670,000 to the budget. Most of the units violated the regulations on dealing un-quarantined poultry and cattle and some food processing units did not guarantee food safety.

Besides, according to the approved plan, 12/20 units catering industrial
helpings are also inspected. Seven out of them violated the rules and had to pay
a fine of VND 19,700,000 to the budget.
