Dong Nai: the first death caused by H1N1 influenza

On 9th September 2009 morning, Dong Nai Health Department confirmed one death case caused by H1N1 flu in Dong Nai. Tho Luc, the patient, born in 2000, was farming and learning with his family at Gia Huynh, Tanh Linh. Initially feeling sick in 29 August 2009, until 17h, 2nd September 2009, the patient was taken to Long Khanh regional general hospital when he had clinical A-type flu symptoms.

the patient was moved to Dong Nai hospital of pediatrics in pneumonic and
breathless state. Until around 10.30am this morning, 9th September
2009, the patient passed away at Dong Nai hospital of pediatrics. Director of
Dong Nai Health Department, Mr. Tu Thanh Chuong stated that Tho Luc’s death was
mainly caused by shortage of information and postponed hospitalization while he
was seriously pneumonic.
To take control of the spreading
of H1N1 flu virus, Dong Nai hospital of pediatrics is proposed to cremate the
dead in 9th September 2009 afternoon. Until now, this is the first
death caused by H1N1 flu in Dong Nai and also the fifth death throughout
Vietnam.
