4.6 Percent of Those at the Age of 30-69 Affected by Diabetes

Dong Nai Department of Health says, the diabetes epidemic survey over people aged 30-69 shows that rate of diabetes represents 4.6% and pre-diabetes 10.6%.

Diabetes Prevention Program has been carried out Dec. 2009, which conducts epidemic investigation into diabetes and provides screening checkup to 12 thousand people with risk factors in 30 wards and communes across Bien Hoa city. Eventually, the results indicate that 7.1% of the people are affected by diabetes and 11.8% with pre-diabetes symptoms. The sector continues to foster diabetes communication on television, the radio and other mass media.
