gives an award to the contestant who wins the first prize

This is the
writing contest that Dong Nai newspaper has collaborated with the provincial
Veterans’ Association, Department of Education and Training and Youth Union in
organizing with the intention of contributing to boosting the propagation and
implementation of the campaign – "Study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s
ethical example". Simultaneously, the contest is to seek for, exhort, motivate
and praise the shining examples of the collectives and individuals who study and
follow Uncle Ho’s ethical example with specific and practical thoughts and
actions.
From when the
contest started to when it ended, there have been 5,632 articles submitted by
the contestants from all parts of the province. These articles are a rich source
of contents and ways of expressions, reflecting the writers’ true feelings and
thoughts. The organization board made a selection and awarded 10 individual
prizes including 1 first, 2 second, 3 third, 4 consolation and 8 team prizes to
the excellent writers. Phuong Lien (from Tan Phu district’s radio station) won
the first prize with "Twenty years to work as a hamlet chief". The second prizes
went to Bui Thi Trang (a former student of Nguyen Trai high school in Bien Hoa
city) with "No passion, no success" and to Pham Van Hong (from Division 309,
Bien Hoa city) with "How to make economical habit everybody’s self-conscious
action”. Besides, the organization board also awarded prizes to the old and
youngest contestants.
In the
summation meeting, Mr. Huynh Van Toi declared that the second phase of the
writing contest about “President Ho Chi Minh’s ethical example” starts and will
end on February 3, 2011. The contest rules say that the articles need to
describe Uncle Ho’s example which the writer eyewitnessed or read about in
materials, books and newspapers and to show the writer’s feelings or others’
feelings of Uncle Ho’s example. In addition, the articles need to examine the
examples of “Good person and good deed” within and outside the province, who
study and follow Uncle Ho’s example. They should be done in the form of
reflections, snapshots, reportage and memoirs of “Good person, good deed”.
The organization board has called for the journalists, writers and collectors
who are highly experienced and passionately devoted to take part in the contest.
