At the anniversary, Mr. Bui Xuan Thong – Secretary of Dong Nai Youth Union
delivered a speech to reminisce about the traditions of the Ho Chi Minh
Communist Youth Union and sparked the emulation movement among Dong Nai youth
and teenagers to welcome the 80th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth
Union.

In the atmosphere to welcome the 79th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi
Minh Communist Youth Union across the country, Dong Nai youth are involved in a
variety of activities and programs during the Youth Month: offering students
advice and information on the university entrance exam, having talks on "Climate
change and the youth’s responsibility”, paying a visit to and offering gifts to
poor youths, organizing traditional camping activities and honoring the elite
youths who act according to the teachings of Uncle Ho.

Attending and addressing the anniversary, Standing Deputy Secretary of Dong Nai
Party Committee – Le Hong Phuong –asserted that the youth have played an
important role in the history of protection of the country and in the building
process of the country, adding that Dong Nai youth today with a patriotic,
creative, pioneering and voluntary spirit have contributed greatly to the
province’s socio-economic development. Also, Phuong requested that Dong Nai
youth keep promoting traditions, learning to improve their knowledge and
actively participating in the Youth Union’s movements, that a team of young
union members who are well-qualified and possess good qualities be trained to
lead youth movements and to call for their participation in a new situation and
that the Youth Union has to identify its role as a political nucleus and the
Party’s capable assistant.
On this occasion, the Central Communist Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh awarded
commemorative medals – "For the young generation" – to 18 comrades who are the
leaders and officers of the Youth Union making a lot of contributions to the
activities of Dong Nai Youth Union and to Dong Nai children’s movements.
At the anniversary, Dong Nai Youth Union honored and awarded the certificates of
merits to 21 elite union members over five consecutive years.
