With the slogan “Youth Join Hands in Building New Rural Areas” and the motto
“Each Youth Union Member – One Voluntary Day, Each Youth Detachment – One Place
to Do Voluntary Work and Each Grassroots Youth Detachment – One Voluntary
Project and One Voluntary Job”. Youth volunteers from all parts of the province
have actively participated in voluntary activities, achieved great results and
have made a great contribution to building new rural areas. For example, 500
youth union members and youths participated in the movement “Exam Season
Assistance”, provided instructions and advice for more than 3,200 students in
2009 university and college examination, called for donations and offered more
than 2,250 gifts, 100 bikes and over 11,000 notebooks to poor children in
hinterland and ethnic areas, planted 2,665 green trees, repaired roads, cleared
bushes and dredged inter-field canals and held more than 800 summer classes for
children, made a donation towards the building and repairing of 54 houses of
gratitude and participated in environmental protection activities...

Attending and addressing the ceremony, Vice chairwoman of the provincial
People’s Committee – Huynh Thi Nga praised the youth for the practical
activities and achievements they have had and expected that the youth would
become a major force to promote the movement of bringing the youth’s zeal and
intelligence to hinterland areas and contributing to building new rural areas.
On this occasion, the provincial People’s Committee awarded certificates of
merit to 24 grassroots youth detachments, who enthusiastically participated in
the program, “2009 Summer Voluntary Youth Peak Month”.
Especially, at the ceremony, Dong Nai Youth Union organized a 15-year summation
meeting about the voluntary youth movement and awarded twelve emulation flags to
twelve youth detachments with an active participation in the 1995-2009 voluntary
youth movement.
