The comments at the seminar showed that industrialization in Dong Nai in general and Long Thanh, Nhon Trach in particular has contributed to enhancemen of of people’s living standards, industry diversification, considerable improvements in facilities and infrastructure. However, many farmers who have little land or no land for agricultural production and who have no professions in their hands should have a lot of difficulty in their life, especially middle-aged people who encounter considerable difficulty in finding job.  Environmental pollution increases and increased immigrant labor lead to more complexity in social life, and so on.

Therefore, the seminar also focused on discussion about solutions for minimizing the negative impacts of the industrialization process in this region. Particularly, That is, there should be policies on environmental treatment and protection;  vocational training and job orientation for the farmers who lost their land should be top priority, especially solutions for work for the middle aged; financial support should be timely given to farmers who switched job; reasonable capital spending should be guided; handicraft industry should be recovered and developed; that also is hitech applications in agricultural production and rural infrastructure investment that is compatible with the development of industries as well as pressure from increased population in the industrial parks.
