At the festival, families had a chance to take part in the contests: musical
performance, cooking and multiple-choice knowledge tests and in the activities –
“Have fun with your family”. Thereby, each family’s members had a chance to stay
together, love each other more and understand each other better. Families had a
chance to exchange ideas, discuss and learn experience from each other with the
intention of maintaining a happy and lasting family relationship.
The Vice chairwoman of the provincial People's Committee –Huynh Thi Nga –
attended the festival and expressed her congratulations to more than 100
cultural families and especially 33 typical cultural families of the province
who appeared at Dong Nai province’s Cultural Family Festival 2009. Also, she
stressed that many people haven’t been aware of the role of the family and that
many families have still pursued a material life but lacked interest in their
family life. With the year 2009’s theme – “Preserve and promote the traditional
values of Vietnamese families” – it is necessary that all levels and sectors
keep enhancing the propaganda and the campaign for building cultural families
among the people, which are closely associated with the province’s patriotic
emulation movement and the campaign “Study and follow the ethical example of
President Ho Chi Minh” so that families will be a cosy home for everybody.
