Delivering a
speech at the meeting, Vice chairwoman of the provincial People's Committee –
Huynh Thi Nga stressed that the number of students registering for the exam
2009, of examination councils and of exam rooms decline compared to last year.
Nga added that there are some changes to the exam, so the Department of
Education and Training should follow the instructions of the Chairman of the
provincial People's Committee and the province’s method for organizing the exam.
It is essential to focus on assisting students, especially average and
below-average students in their study, instruct them how to do the exam paper
and make the exam paper structure known to all students. To organize a
successful exam, it is necessary that the department should choose the qualified
staff as proctors and collaborate actively with the Department of Education and
Training. For the departments, sectors and concerned agencies, it is necessary
to fully grasp the instructions of the provincial People’s Committee and the
guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training and to cooperate closely with
the Department of Education and Training in organizing a serious and safe
examination.
It was known
that the province had 26,044 students registering for the 2007-2008 exam and
only 19,725 students (accounting for 76.1%) achieved good score to pass the
exam. 5,538 students registered for the re-exam and 2,231 students (accounting
for 41.9%) obtained good score to pass the exam.
