Nai People’s Committee’s certificate of merit is being
awarded to Mr. Do Huy Thang’s family |
Particularly, a certificate of merit and an award worth VND10
million (or US$478.58) were offered to Mr. Do Huy Thang, a former member of
Quarter 1 Security Force, who sacrificed his life on duty.
At 9:30 p.m, February 9, 2011, Tan Hoa ward police were informed
about a gang of 7 to 9 young people who were breaking the glass windows of some
houses in the neighborhood.
Police and civil defense forces including Mr. Thang rushed to
the scene. On chasing, Thang was stabbed in his right chest by a criminal with a
knife, and the knife went through his heart and lungs.
Though Thang was rushed to the hospital by police, and civil
defense forces, and people, he passed away in Thong Nhat General hospital at
10:30 p.m the same day.

Mr. Cao Duc Quang is receiving his reward |
The certificate of merit was awarded to Mr. Cao Duc Quang, a
taxi driver of Saigon Production Trading Transportation Services Company.
March 26, 2011, on his way to bring a pregnant passenger from
Gate 11 to Thong Nhat General Hospital, she suddenly showed signs of labor pain
and going to give a birth on the car.
In this emergency case, Quang stayed calm and quick-minded
enough to apply his acquired knowledge and problem-solving skills through
training to handling the case by stopping the car to help the passenger give the
birth of a baby.
The giving a birth of a baby girl that weigh three kilos was
successful and then he brought the mother and her child to the hospital safely
and promptly. Immediately, Quang was awarded a reward worth VND500,000 (or
US$23.92) by the company leadership.
In addition, Saigon Production Trading Transportation Services
Joint Stock Company was also awarded certificates of merit for its achievements
in training senior and junior employees by Dong Nai People’s Committee.
On this occasion, Bien Hoa Municipal People's Committee awarded
certificates of merit to Mr. Do Huy Thang and Department of Traffic and
Transportation awarded certificates of merit to Mr. Quang and the Saigon
Company.
