After 10 years of implementation, the “All people unite to build
a cultural life” movement has obtained achievements as follows:
+ Up to now, 87 percent of hamlets and neighborhoods have won
the “Cultural hamlet” title.
+ 138 out of 171 communes and wards are recognized as good ones
without prostitution and drug addiction, accounting for 80 percent.
+ The steering committee at district and city level granted
accreditation certificates for 9,520 lots of agencies and units. The steering
committee at provincial level offered accreditation certificates to 3,521 lots
of agencies and units winning the cultural life title.
+ Over 94 percent of households reach the standard – a national
cultural family.
+ Sports movements to follow the example of the Great Uncle Ho
have increasingly attracted the participation of masses and the number of
regular sports players account for 27.5 percent of the population.
+ In terms of the programs to promote creative ideas in both
work and study, there are 326 works attending the competition and winning
prizes. Particularly, 90 percent of initiatives have been applied to practical
production activities and social life.
+ Good person and good deed program honors 100 exemplary
individuals every year.
+ The movement has exerted an impact on all aspects of social
life, contributing to boosting economic development, eliminating hunger and
reducing poverty reduction and promoting people’s cultural and spiritual life.

Addressing the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of Dong Nai Provincial
People’s Committee and Head of the Steering Committee of the “All people unite
to build a cultural life” movement Huynh Thi Nga highly appreciated the past ten
year achievements of the movement.
Ngay said that this is a large-scale and strategic movement
which has broadly and deeply developed and received the enthusiastic response of
the people. The movement has made considerable contributions to Dong Nai’s
socio-economic development.
But many local authorities sometimes are still chasing after
achievements. The percentage of prostitution, drug addiction and traffic
accidents have not decreased sustainably.
Also, Nga made the following suggestions:
+ In the coming time, it is a necessity to mobilize the strength
of the Party and the people to take part in the movement associated with the
"Study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s ethical example" campaign.
+ Build new models for large-scale introduction, focus on the
real quality of the movement and don’t chase after achievements.
+ Organize training courses for leader staff towards the
implementation of the movement, especially grassroots movements.
To make sure that the movement goes together with quality and
efficiency, Nga requested that all levels of authorities and sectors have a
close collaboration, update contents and methods of operation and pay more
attention to ethnic minority groups in far-flung and ethnic areas and
boarding-house workers.
On this occasion, Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee awarded
certificates of merit to 92 collectives, 30 households and 99 individuals
obtaining excellent achievements over 10 years of implementation of the “All
people unite to build a cultural life” movement.
