19 units have been applying ISO for public administration successfully

On November 25, Department of Science and Technology held a conference to preliminarily wrap up the supporting program for ISO for public administration in the 2006-2009 period.

Across the province, there are now 19 agencies, administrative units having established and applied effectively ISO system for public administration. 10 more units have established ISO system.

In 2006-2010 period, Dong Nai province support entire expenditure for 20 province-level administrative units to establish ISO for public administration so that by 2010, all of them, including departments, branches, districts’ people’s committee, Bien Hoa city, and Long Khanh town, put ISO into use synchronously. Moreover, the program also supports units, enterprises to build and use advanced management devices, for example Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology with ISO 17799 (now change to ISO 27000), Thong Nhat Area General Hospital with ISO 14001:2004, Dong Nai Children’s Hospital with ISO 9001:2008  and 3 enterprises establishing and applying advanced  management systems such as ISO 9001, HACCP.

Over the pastime, Department of Science and Technology has held three conferences on plan deployment and directions for units to carry out successfully ISO for public administration and a presummation conference in 2008 with over 33 representatives of units. The Department also held 3 introductory courses for civil service employees to be aware of ISO for public administration.      

Applying ISO for public administration helps unit leaders grasp every activity of units, determine clearly roles and responsibilities of each civil service employee, department for particular work, etc.
