Over VND17 billion for study promotion fund mobilized in the whole province

On January 16 morning, the Executive Board of the Provincial Study Encouragement Society summed up the study promotion activities in 2008 and mapped out its working plans for 2009.

     According to the report, in 2008, the Study Encouragement Society at all levels mobilized more than VND17,702 billion for study promotion fund (up 10% against 2007). Accordingly, all levels of the association commended, rewarded and encouraged 72,240 pupils and 6,905 teachers with high achievements in learning and teaching with the amount of over VND6 billion; giving students in remote areas 1,075 bicycles, 72 houses of love, 14,074 notebooks and books and others; supporting 1,044 poor students with the amount of more than VND1.6 billion. Besides, all levels of the association helped drop-out disadvantaged students return to their schools.

 

The Provincial Study Encouragement Society in collaboration with Vietnam one held a workshop on building a learning society.

   











     In the year, the Society had constantly developed its branches and study encouragement organizations in the community. At the present, the province has 233 study encouragement societies of communes, wards, towns and offices; 2043 of hamlets, quarters and schools (up 158 ones); 154 of fellow-countrymen, families and people-founded organizations (up 51 ones) with the total members of 116,715 (up 19,506 ones). Among 63,391 families registering to become fondness of learning family, 14,314 were recognized this title.

      In 2009, the Society has to work hard to increase its fund by at least 10% against 2008; its branches 5% and its members 10%, 20% of families recognized as fondness of learning family…..
