Between May, 1951 and July, 1954
the Central Bureau decided to relocate the battlefield. The two provinces of
Bien Hoa and Thu Dau Mot were merged into Thu Bien province.
Throughout this hardship period,
the people and soldiers of Thu Bien encountered a lot of difficulties due to the
historic flood in 1952 and the French imperialist’s mopping-up operations,
attacks, siege and economic blockade.
Under these circumstances, the
Party Committee of Thu Bien Party with a strong determination led forces of
soldiers and people to overcome natural disasters and the dangers caused by the
enemy and to strengthen, establish and promote the growth of armed forces to
fight against the French imperialist.
In late 1953, Thu Bien Provincial
Party Committee held a meeting to commend the province for its achievements,
victory and success in production activities.
At the get-together, on behalf of
the province's leadership, Deputy Secretary of the Standing Committee at Dong
Nai Provincial Party Committee Le Hong Phuong paid a visit to Thu Bien
revolutionary cadres and asked them of their health and lives.
Phuong said that the Party and
the people of Dong Nai and of the former Thu Bien province would cherish and
appreciate the sacrifice and dedication of former Thu Bien cadres throughout
periods.
