that for employees, especially workers with disadvantaged circumstances, who
are pregnant or raising children under 12 months old, the company always has
favorable policies for those employees such as: visits and encourage workers
with disadvantaged circumstances; organizing communication on reproductive
health care; be entitled to take periodical leave for antenatal care every
month; have a separate room to rest when there are signs of fatigue. In
addition, the enterprise always arranges a stable workplace so that pregnant
workers can be assured of safety at work, peace of mind to complete their work.
Dona Pacific Co., Ltd located in Trang Bom District always has many policies to take care of employees,
especially laborers. With the particularity that the enterprise has nearly
10,000 employees, of which 85% are female employees, in addition to paying
attention to working conditions and health care for this workforce, the company
also cares about pregnant employees. For instance, the company has arranged for
employees to have annual reproductive health checks, allocated the workplace
suitable for the health status of female workers, arranging time for laborers
to have periodical antenatal check-ups, etc.
Ms. Dang Thi Thom, Chairman of the Trade Union said
that at the company, the young workforce is the major, all of them are in
marriageable age, so there are often 1-2 thousand pregnant and giving birth.
For pregnant workers, enterprises will arrange them in the easiest parts to
work without affecting their health. In addition, pregnant laborers are arranged
to rest time to ensure the good health.

Over 10 years working for Changshin Vietnam Co., Ltd, Vinh Cuu District, Ms.
Nguyen Thi Hai said that she is lucky because she chose the right working
environment. “Here, all laborers are cared for and shared from work to life. We
enjoy a lot of good care. For example, twice a year, laborers are consulted on
health and family planning; Laborers living in difficulty are helped and
supported in a timely manner. For pregnant employees, they can get free
ultrasounds at the company's medical room, etc. These practical activities are
the motivation for us to keep working, and have further devotion to the
company."
Mr. Tran Phuong Giai, Chairman of the Trade Union of
Dona Standard Vietnam Co., Ltd, Xuan Loc District said that the enterprise currently has the largest
number of workers in the district, of which the labor force accounts for 80%.
In the past time, the Trade Union and the company have often paid attention to
this human resource. For instance, the company built the rest room for
laborers, milking room for laborers raising small children. Particularly,
pregnant laborers are worked in the easy department, arranged for a reasonable
rest time, and can leave 1 hour early when they are pregnant until the 7th month.
Along with enterprises, the care of laborers is paid
special attention by Trade Unions at all levels in the province. According to
the Provincial Confederation of Labor, Trade Unions at all levels always
supervise the implementation of benefits and policies related to labor in
enterprises. Along with that, encourage grassroots Trade Unions to coordinate
with enterprises to take care of female workers, especially pregnant female
workers so that they always receive timely attention and encouragement.
In order to promote the position and role of the
Women's Labor, the Provincial Confederation of Labor has issued many programs
and plans to guide Trade Unions at all levels to perform well the welfares of female
workers. During the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic in the province, Trade
Unions at all levels have focused on mobilizing enterprises to ensure benefits
and support policies for laborers who are temporarily absent from work due to
pregnancy or child rearing who cannot work on “3 on the spot” mode and ensure
the safest working conditions for pregnant workers. Thanks to that, the living
condition, employment, and income of laborers have gradually improved.
