26 winners at the Maths Olympic Contest for Primary School Pupils

On March 27, the Department of Education and Training held a closing and awarding ceremony for primary school pupils winning at the Maths Olympic Contest in 2010.

Deputy Director of Education and Training Pham Thi Hai was awarding certificates of merits to winners.

    The contest was celebrated on February 8, 2010 at Tan Phong B Elementary School in Bien Hoa city. It had the participation of 240 grade 4 and 5 pupils from 11 districts, Long Khanh Commune and Bien Hoa City. Those who participated in the Mathematics Olympic Contest 2010 were selected from the district-level Maths Olympic Contests, their last semester’s maths marks were nine points or more, and their Vietnamese syntax ones over 8 points.

As a result, the Organization Board gave five first prizes to 4th and 5th grade pupils in Bien Hoa City, Dinh Quan, Vinh Cuu and Long Thanh Districts. In addition, 7 second and 14 third prizes were awarded to high-ranked candidates. Six team gold medals belonged to Vinh Cuu, Xuan Loc, Dinh Quan and Thong Nhat Districts, and Bien Hoa City (Bien Hoa won two team prizes for grade 4 and 5).
