1. The 8th Provincial Party Congress for 2005-2010 tenure was held in Bien Hoa city over 3 days from December 21 till December 23. The congress was a big success and a symbol of solidarity, will, ability and intellect of the party committee and people of Dong Nai. The achievements made by the party committee and people of Dong Nai in the first 5 years of the twenty-first century will no doubt create a strong foundation for setting the pace in the province’s overall modernization drive.
 
A delegation from People Democratic Republic of Laos headed by Buoasy Lorvansay, Chairman of the Laotian National Assembly’s Economic Commission paid a working visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman.
 
As a part of his journey to the South, Mr. Truong Van Duoc, member of the Politburo and vice chairman of National Assembly paid a working visit to Dong Nai on January 21st.
 
In the evening of January 23rd, at the hall of provincial Square, provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Vietnam Father Land Front Committee had coordinated with each other to hold a meeting to celebrate the lunar New Year.
 
Over the past two years, the I.T circle in Dong Nai province is not unaware of “Electric Office” system manufactured by the provincial Department of Science and Technology.
 
In the morning of January 25th, Dong Nai province opened newspaper exhibition at the provincial library.
 
On January 31st, the third day of the Lunar New Year, Prime Minister Phan Van Khai paid a visit to Dong Nai and gave his New Year’s greetings to the Provincial Party Committee and its people.
 
A meeting was held in the Dong Nai province’s square on February 3 to mark the 76th anniversary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) (Feb. 3) by the Bien Hoa city People’s Committee.
 
The nation-level technical invention contest is a way to mobilize people from all walks of life to solve the technical problem of the country.
 
On 17, February 2006, at Sheraton Hotel in Chiang Mai City, Thailand the 5th Aisa – Pacific Information and Communication Technology Awards (APICTA) Contest opened officially. The purpose of these annual Awards is to review. The quality and results of I.T (Information Technology) products in the area the World; the APICTA language is English. The participating countries are: Vietnam, Singapore, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, Macao, Malaysia, Australia, Brunei and China with 164 contesting products.
