Basing on the complex development of the typhoon No. 9, internationally known as typhoon Durian, and the forecast that the typhoon will pass through some districts in the east and north of province, On December 4, chairperson of provincial People’s Committee had issued urgent directive on taking precautionary measures for fighting against the typhoon.

After many days of careful preparations, The Seventh Congress of Dong Nai province’s Women Representatives (the term of 2006-2011) took place on December 8-9th 2006 at the Provincial Square and ended successfully. There attended Ms Truong Thi Khue- the permanent Vice President of Vietnamese Women’s Union; Mr Tran Dinh Thanh- a member of the Central Committee of the Party and the Provincial Party Committee Secretary; permanent representatives of the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Dong Nai province’s Commission of Fatherland Front; representatives of departments, boards, and organizations; heroic Vietnamese mothers and 295 typical representatives of provincial women.

In the morning of December 18, 2006, at the Provincial Committee of the Party Square, the tenth session of meetings of the Provincial People’s Council - the seventh course, has conducted the opening meeting. Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh - a member of the Central Committee of the Party, the Provincial Party Committee Secretary and the President of the Provincial People’s Council presided over the meeting.
