In the morning of April 29, at the province’s Square, Bien Hoa city’s Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee held a solemn ceremony to mark the 33rd anniversary of the liberation of Vietnam’s southern region and the world’s 122nd May Day.
 
Truong Tan Sang, Politburo member and Standing Member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee recently paid a working visit to Dong Nai. During his visit, Mr. Truong Tan Sang has investigated the model of cooperative alliance established in Dong Nai.  
 
At the press conference held in May 5, 2008, the organizing board of Dong Nai job transaction floor announced that they would inaugurate the third job transaction floor on May 10 at the vocational training centre in Long Thanh-Nhon Trach districts.
 
144 contestants who are representatives of 21 schools, centers, and enterprises participated in the 5th Professional Skill Contest for young workers in Dong Nai held by Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs in collaboration with the vocational training units and enterprises from April 26 to May 6, 2008.
 
On the morning of May 9, Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DCST) held a conference to deploy tasks of the cultural, sports and tourism sector in 2008 at the green club of Vuon Xoai farm. Participants in the conference were Vo Thanh Tung – Deputy Director General of Ho Chi Minh City Representative Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Huynh Thi Nga – Vice-chairperson of Dong Nai People's Committee, leaders of agencies and sectors, and People’s Committee of districts and Bien Hoa City.
 
The contest on telling stories about President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example held by Dong Nai confederation of labor took place in May 8-9, 2008 at Dong Nai vocational training school No.2. Participants in the contest were 30 contestants from trade union locals.

In the afternoon of May 16, our provincial Department of Science and Technology honourly celebrated its 30-year anniversary of establishment. There were the attendances of Mr. Nguyen Quan – Deputy Minister of the Science and Technology Ministry, Mr. Bui Ngoc Thanh – Head of Public Relations of Provincial Party Committee, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Lien – President of Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Mr. Dinh Quoc Thai – Vice President of Provincial People’s Committee, representatives of departments, branches and industries, other towns and districts’ People’s Committees within the province, Institutions, schools, other provinces’ Science and Technology Departments and provincial Science and Technology industry’s generations of cadres, civil servants and officials.
 
On 19th May, the provincial People’s Committee launched a tree planting campaign and tree planting and forest planting movements 2008 at Vinh Cuu Natural Conversation. Attending the tree planting ceremony were Le Hong Phuong-Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Ao Van Thinh- Vice-Chairman of the provincial Peoples’ Committee along with representatives of sectors, departments of the province and Vinh Cuu district as well as many students and people from Ma Da commune. There were nearly 1,000 precious trees planted in 2-hectare conservation area near Ma Da.
 
On the morning of May 20, Dong Nai Liaison Committee for former political prisoners held the 8th traditional meeting of Dong Nai province former political prisoners at the provincial Square. Attending the meeting were Huynh Thi Nga – Vice-chairperson of Dong Nai People's Committee, the delegations from the provinces of Binh Thuan, Tay Ninh, Binh Duong, Long An, Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Ho Chi Minh city, and more than 250 former political prisoners of the province.
