On July 27, 2008, The Provincial Standing Party Committee met with leaders of departments, relevant agencies as well as executive committee at all levels, local authorities to discuss solutions to boost up implementation of Central Resolution no.5 of the fourth Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee on continuing to renovate, develop and enhance effectiveness of collective economy in Dongnai province, which showed provincial leaders’ determination for Tam Nong plan on agriculture, farmers and rural development when the country joined WTO. However, that is leader’s willpower. Meanwhile, it is changes in awareness and actions of branches, unions as well as executives, local authorities that can create real quantity and quality.
 
On the morning of 28th May, like students nationwide, over 3,500 students in Dongnai Province attend 2008 high school graduation exam.
 
On the morning of May 28, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Library Department co-organized a seminar on enhancing operation quality at district-level libraries at Dong Nai Culture and Sports Complex. Attending the seminar were Huynh Vinh Ai – Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Ngan – Head of Library Department, Huynh Thi Nga – Vice-Chairperson of Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee and other delegates.
 
On the morning of May 29, at the meeting hall of provincial People’s Committee, Vo Van Mot – Deputy Chairperson of Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee had a working session with relevant departments and sectors to evaluate the implementation of socio-economic, security-national defense targets in the first half of 2008 and to point out orientations in the second half of 2008.
 
On the morning of May 30, the Red Cross Association of Dong Nai province held a conference to sum up the activities of Agent Orange Victim Fund in a 10-year period. Attending at the conference were Pham Van Trong – Vice-Chairperson of the Vietnam Red Cross Society; Bui Ngoc Thanh – Member of provincial Standing Committee of the Party and Head of the Mass Mobilisation Department of the provincial Party Committee, and Huynh Thi Nga – Vice-Chairperson of provincial People’s Committee.
 
On the morning of June 1, at the provincial Square, the Central Communist Youth Union held a kick-off ceremony on the summer volunteer program 2008 and the youth campaign namely “protecting the native river”. The event was attended by Politburo member Truong Tan Sang, first secretary of Central Communist Youth Union Vo Van Thuong and Vo Van Mot – Deputy Chairperson of Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee.
 
The groundbreaking ceremony to build the new Dong Nai bridge was held on the morning of June 7. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai, Deputy Minister of Transport Ngo Thinh Duc, Minister of Construction Nguyen Hong Quan and Secretary of Dong Nai provincial Party’s Committee Tran Dinh Thanh, leaders and representatives of relevant agencies and sectors from Ho Chi Minh city, and provinces of Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Thuan and Ba Ria-Vung Tau.
 
On June 6, 2008, Dong Nai provincial Steering Committee held the semifinal round of contest on “Telling stories about President HCM’s moral example” at the meeting hall of Dong Nai Teacher Training College. Participants were 11 candidates from Provincial Party Committee, Department of Education and Training, Provincial Labor Federation, Provincial Communist Youth Union and Dong Nai veterans association.
 
Vietnam Farmers’ Association in Dongnai held the 7th Dongnai Farmers’ Congress on June 26 and 27 (term 2008-2013). Attending the congress were Le Hoang Minh-Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers’ Association, Tran Dinh Thanh-Secretary of the Party Committee of Dongnai Province along with representatives of agencies and branches and a lot of members of the provincial Farmers’ Association.
 
On June 27, DOST in collaboration with DARD and People’s Committee of Long Khanh Town organized a seminar on fungi. A large number of scientists, businesses, agencies, sectors and over 200 mushroom growers over the province were attracted to attend the seminar.
