Posted Date: 15/09/2009
On the morning of June 9, Dong Nai Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DDNRE) reported on the adjustment of land use planning toward 2010 and Dong Nai’s land use plan in the 2006-2010 period to the provincial People’s Committee. The event was attended by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Ao Van Thinh and related departments and sectors.

DDNRE reported that as planned toward 2010, the province has the total area of natural land of 590,340ha. Of which, the area of agricultural land is 440,145ha, accounting for 74.56%, a decrease of 34,296ha compared to the year 2008; the area of non-agricultural land is 149,106ha, occupying 25,26%, up 35,490ha; and the area of unused land is 1,088ha, representing 0.18%, down 1,194ha. It is very necessary for Dong Nai province to adjust land use planning because the province has a high socio-economic growth rate and such new projects as the bio-tech centre in Cam My district (208ha), and the industrial and agricultural production complex in Thong Nhat and Xuan Loc districts (1,632ha), etc.

Addressing at the meeting, Vice Chairman Ao Van Thinh said that land use in the province has been carried out wastefully. In particular, some construction works were still out of the planning. Accordingly, he emphasized that land use planning had to attach to the area development planning and the purpose of socio-economic development, not depending too much on investors. He also noted that other departments should collaborate with DDNRE to adjust this planning specifically.
