On March 30 afternoon, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Ao Van Thinh has presided over the meeting to hear the draft report on environmental protection program in Dong Nai in the 2011-2015 period of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.

On November 17 morning, the Provincial People’s Committee had a working session with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and related departments to adjust the land prices set for 2010.

According to the report released by the provincial People’s Committee, 3 industrial zones across the province were granted investment licenses in 2007, including Bau Xeo IZ (500 ha), Tan Phu IZ (54 ha) and the Agtex Long Binh IZ (47 ha), raising the total number of industrial zones in the province to 24 ones.

Dong Nai Department of Natural Resources and Environment reported that 44 mineral mines with an area of 1,758ha will be exploited; 33 over-1,633ha sites containing mineral beds will be surveyed and exploited; and 95 sites with an area of over 1,000ha will be exploited on a small scale, according to mineral exploitation planning toward 2010.

According to Dong Nai Department of Planning and Investment, Dong Nai province established more new 10 industrial zones in 4-year period (2006-2009), raising the number of industrial zones across the province to 29 with a total area of 9,076ha, of which the land area for lease accounted for 60%.

On July 16, the People’s Committee of Nhon Trach district has announced the 1/2,000 detailed planning of Nhon Trach’s new urban area.

On November 19 morning, following its environment monitoring program, the delegation of inspectors of the provincial People's Council led by Mr Huynh Chi Thang had a working session on the construction process of Ho Nai IZ’s concentrated wastewater treatment system and surveying the implementation of environmental protection regulation in 2 enterprises (Sentec Vietnam Co. Ltd. and Great Vietnam Co.Ltd.)

On last February 24, the Provincial People’s Committee has released a regulation on water resources management in Dong Nai Province.
