This project aims to explore the hydro-electronic potential of Dong Nai river system in such 2 districts as Tan Phu and Dinh Quan. Particularly, 5 hydro-electronic power plants in Ta Lai, Phu Tan 1, Phu Tan 2, Thanh Son and Ngoc Dinh are expected to be built. These hydroelectric plants will have the capacity of 164MW. When finishing, these plants will supply electrical energy for the power load in the South in particular, and for the national power grids in general, meeting the demand of electricity in 2010 and the following years. According to the consulting unit’s report, this project will be arranged with low-water dam, and water reservoir limited to river bed. But Mr.Vo Van Mot noted that if the project is put into operation, it is necessary to carefully consider such matters as the resettlement for residents and the project’s effectiveness.
