Dong Nai Administrative Center to Move to Long Thanh District

Posted Date: 21/01/2009
On the second session of the 14th meeting of the 7th Provincial People’s Council, chairman of the Provincial People’s Council submitted the statement on planning the movement and construction of the administrative center.

Mr. Vo Van Mot, chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, reads the statement at the meeting.

The reason leading to the movement proposal is that many provincial State organs have been situated in scattered areas causing problems on steering, administration of the Provincial People’s Council as well as organizations’ and individuals’ contacts. Moreover the current provincial state organs’ building campus cannot be expanded; concurrently the old-fashioned urban planning cannot form such a large-scale administrative center.

According to the statement, new location of the administrative center with an area of 275 hectares by Food Industry Corp and head investors from Singapore and Malaysia will be built in Tam Phuoc commune, Long Thanh district.  The center is estimated to cover 30 hectares including 2 multistoried buildings; one for the Provincial Party’s Committee and another for the Provincial People’s Committee and Council, and other departments and sectors. The total estimated cost invested by the Food Industry Corp and partners, which partially comes from revenue of new urban area deal, may hit US$20 million. Other facilities for the two building will be undertaken by the Investment Corp. Therefore, the center will help to end fragmented and unsystematic density of the provincial organs and divisions mainly caused by Bien Hoa’s development history.

Furthermore; the project on planning for center for administration, culture and trade service in Thong Nhat and Trung Dung wards with an area of 78 hectares is being carried out. In fact, the project currently encounters problems on ground clearance and investment. As a result, if the provincial administrative center finishes, Bien Hoa’s administrative organs can substitute in its buildings, helping lower cost, settle the problems on clearance compensation. After moved, other small size office can be auctioned for construction budget and public interest such as hospitals and accommodations for workers, and so forth.

Verification result by the Legislation Board of the Provincial People’s Council has brought forward practical bases, totally agreeing on the proposal of moving and constructing the new administrative center. Accordingly, the focused aim is to foster the administrative reform and improve efficiency in steering and administering of the provincial political system enabling to meet development demand of Dong Nai in future.
