Speaking at the opening ceremony of Fruit Honor Week
and Southwest Urban Agricultural Market in 2022, Mr. Vo Van Phi, Vice Chairman
of the Provincial People's Committee also emphasized that this is an important
event, because in addition to The promotion and introduction of typical fruit
products of Dong Nai is also an opportunity for people to have the opportunity
to exchange, seek opportunities for association in production, consumption of
agricultural products and development of ecotourism.
Dong Nai's fruits are building their brands well
thanks to the focus on quality improvement. Up to now, the province has nearly
1,700 hectares of fruit orchards certified with Good Agricultural Practice
(GAP) and equivalent, 131 products with trademarks, 108 planting area codes
issued with an area of over 23,200 hectares of crops of all kinds such as:
mango, rambutan, banana, jackfruit, dragon fruit, etc. and 46 codes of packers
eligible for export to markets of Australia, New Zealand, USA, and EU.
According to Mr. Cao Tien Sy, Director of the
Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dong Nai is famous for many
delicious fruit specialties in both output and quality. Therefore, the
organization of Fruit Honor Week is very meaningful, this is also honoring
farmers and production enterprises. This organization also contributes to
increasing services and adding value of labor associated with organic farming
to protect the health of consumers. The brand of fruits and agricultural
products of Dong Nai must be associated with the quality and safety of
responsible agriculture.

Laying the foundation for
the development of garden tourism (eco-tourism)
According to the statistics of the Organizing
Committee, in just 3 days of the last week of honoring the fruit, there were
over 13,000 visitors to the garden eco-tourism models in the communes of Binh
Loc, Xuan Lap, Bao Quang, and Bao Vinh of Long Khanh City. According to leaders
of Long Khanh City, the locality has the strength to develop garden
eco-tourism. Currently, more than 100 households are linking to exploit garden
tourism. Every year on the occasion of summer fruit, gardeners in the city
welcome millions of visitors. Therefore, in order to fully exploit the
strengths of rural tourism, localities in the city are making efforts to
mobilize and coordinate with farmers to build beautiful models of garden
houses, serving food and entertainment when customers have demands.

Mr. Tang Quoc Lap, Vice Chairman of Long Khanh City
People's Committee said, Long Khanh City is proud to be the first unit of the
province to organize and maintain the annual fruit festival. Each festival has
attracted millions of visitors to and back to Long Khanh, because of the good
impressions of a fertilizing land, friendly and hospitable people. Since the
fruit festival, this location become a destination for people as well as
tourists inside and outside the province, it has created a highlight for Long
Khanh City to promote the local tourism in particular and Dong Nai province in
general.
What Mr. Lap said is completely true according to the
current trend of garden tourism. In Long Khanh City, many tourists inside and
outside the province have come to some places such as Suoi Tre to enjoy the fresh
air here with hundreds of years old trees, old villa buildings built in the
French period. This place is also known as "Da Lat City of the Southeast
of Vietnam".

People visit to buy fruits at the Fruit Honor Week
In the summer, many tourists from all over the world
come to Binh Loc Commune to enter the gardens to enjoy fruits. This is one of
four communes of Long Khanh City that have been developing eco-tourism in the
garden. This year, the whole commune has 14 eco-tourism sites. In recent days,
the number of visitors coming to these tourist sites is quite crowded.
Mr. Thai Van Dong, owner of a durian garden in Binh
Loc Commune shared about how to grow the organic fruits: Because durian trees,
especially imported varieties, are very susceptible to diseases, so they must
be cared for according to the Vietgap process. It is known that Mr. Dong's
durian garden is grown 100% of durian of Moong thon and R6, it is expected that
this year's durian season his family will harvest about 20 tons.
Also in Binh Loc Commune, the rambutan garden of Mr.
Nguyen Duy Khanh's family – Cay Da Hamlet with an area of 2ha,
his family grows 3 types of rambutan, namely longan rambutan, Thai rambutan and
Java rambutan. QR codes are performed during the planting. This is the
"commitment" to ensure safety for consumers.
According to the statistics of the Organizing

2022, the output of fruits and agricultural products displayed, introduced and
consumed is estimated at more than 60 tons, of which, Long Khanh City accounts
for more than 40 tons.
