Focusing on promotion of competitive capacity of enterprises

On May 23 morning, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot, Vice-Chairmen, leaders of departments and sectors listened to report of leaders of Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology (DOST) on sci-tech programs to support organizations and enterprises in strengthening their competitive capacity, applying advanced quality management system and ensuring intellectual property in the integration process in 2011-2015 period.

According to report of DOST, in 200-2010 period, these programs assisting organizations and enterprises in  integration process have contributed to socio-economic development of the province. It at first shaped and enhanced awareness of enterprises, competitive value of goods, and improved productivity and quality of products in production and business.

After five years of implementation, there have been 24 administrative agencies applying ISO public administration and the program has assisted 21 enterprises in building and applying advance management systems such as ISO 22000-food safety management system, ISO 140000-environemtal management, ISO 9001:2008-quality management system and quality awards.

For support in development of enterprises'’ intellectual assets, these programs have provided help for 177 organizations and enterprises in registering and establishing industrial property rights with 166 domestics trademarks, 8 international trademarks, 13 industrial designs, 8 prototypes, useful solutions and 24  built website. Also, they have advised and offered guidelines on application procedure for ensuring intellectual assets, and informed about patents for over 500 enterprises.

In the area of supporting research promotion, investment, technology renovation, implementation of technology transfer, energy saving, there have been 12 enterprises innovating their equipments and technology and examining to develop new products and saving energy.

Sci-tech programs support enterprises in their competitive capacity promotion in 2011-2015 period to bring into play their every resource; bring about a turning-point in their production and quality; build advanced management tools; apply standards and technical regulations, tools for enhancement of productivity and product quality; continue to raise awareness of organizations, businesses, individuals about establishing, managing, protecting and developing intellectual assets in the integration process.

It is expected that by 2015, 80 percent of enterprises will be enhanced in their awareness about intellectual property, advanced management system and use of energy saving; 20 major products of the province will have quality in compliance with international standards and certified; 50 enterprises have built and applied advanced management tools in production and integration. The total expenditure for these programs is nearly VND11.3 billion. 

Making a directive speech, provincial People’s Committee Chairman Vo Van Mot requested that the program should concentrate on area of enhancing enterprises’ competitive capacity; assigning tasks clearly and duties of each related department and sector and promoting cooperation in implementation process. He also requested that leaders of DOST should concentrate to fulfill the program before June 1.
