Rate of Medical Waste Collection and Treatment is Still Low

Dong Nai Urban Environment Service One-Member Co., Ltd (Urenco Dong Nai) said the collection and treatment of medical waste in private health facilities and medical centers is barely low.
According to statistics by Bien Hoa Health Department, across the city, some 479 facilities frequently generate medical waste. However, only 77 clinics have registered to Urenco Dong Nai for medical waste collection (making up 16.1%). As known, the goal set in the 2011 – 2015 Environment Protection Program of Dong Nai Province is that the rate of medical waste collection and treatment must hit 100% by late 2015.
