In accordance with the report of the
Provincial Steering Committee for building and development of CLCs, in 2009,
local CLCs have created learning opportunities for 1,206.043 people, bringing
the total number of learners at the local CLCs from 2004 till now to over 4
million. In addition, the development and implementation of the project called
"Building the model of providing scientific and technological information for
socio-economic development in Dong Nai-based districts" has been carried out in
60 communes by Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology. According to the
Steering Committee for building and development of CLCs, CLCs have made many
efforts in enhancing operational efficiency, making an important contribution to
raising people's knowledge. Accordingly, most of the activities of CLCs ranked
fairly and well (65 good-ranked ones, 76 fair-ranked ones).
Addressing the conference, Vice
Chairman of the People’s Committee Tran Minh Phuc praised the acquired results
during the past time, and he also put stress on real effects, in which CLCs need
to enhance people's knowledge. Accordingly, the Steering Committee for building
and development of local CLCs needs to concentrate on the renovation of
operational mechanisms and policies of centers, strengthen and stabilize their
organization, make a widespread propaganda about CLCs’ functions and tasks to
people, investigate and master the learning needs of people to find out the most
effective training trend.
