Consumers should be cautious when purchasing goods |
Since 1983, National Union has officially announced March 15 to be World Consumer Rights Day and called for nations all over the world to take actions to protect basic rights of consumers.
In Vietnam, consumer protection task has been really cared by Party, Government and the whole society. Over the past time, offices, organizations, and mass media along with enterprise community have strived to undertake activities to protect consumers’ rights and interests and also have achieved significant accomplishments. In particular, On November 17, 2010, National Assembly has passed Consumer Rights Protection Law, which is considered to be a crucial turning point in mission to consumer rights protection in our country.
This year, the World Consumer Rights Day is concerned with “Equal Financial Service for Customers”, aimed at promoting consumer protection for financial services such as insurance, banking, stock services, etc.
At the seminar, besides deployment of legal documents related to consumer rights protection, some involved enterprises have also announced their policies on consumer rights protection.
