Dong Nai
Provincial People's Council and Bien Hoa Municipal People's Council deputies
meet with voters in Buu Long and Quyet Thang wards
At the meetings, representative
for Dong Nai People's Council (8th term) Dinh Quoc Thai read a brief report on
the first session of Dong Nai People’s Council and made a summary of
socio-economic situation, security, and national defense in the first half of
2011 and of directions and tasks in the second half of 2011.
Despite such issues as high
inflation and the global economy’s changes, Dong Nai keeps maintaining a pretty
high growth rate.
In the first half of 2011, GDP
growth rate was 3.2 percent, exports increased greatly, social security was
maintained, and national security was preserved.
However, there remained
weaknesses such as high interest rates and rising prices of raw materials, which
exerted a bad impact on companies’ production and business activities;
fluctuations in prices of commodities, which made people’s life harder and
harder; traffic accidents; infrastructure in rural areas fail to meet economic
development.
In the second half of 2011, Dong
Nai will be determined to sustain its growth rate and implement social security
policies effectively according to the targets set in Dong Nai Party Committee
and People’s Council’s resolutions.
