Chairman of the provincial People's Committee – Vo Van Mot –
delivered a speech at the conference |
19 semi-public schools have applied for being converted into public ones
(including the two schools: Thanh Binh pre-school and Nguyen Dinh Chieu high
school, which applied for being converted into private ones) according to the
project. Particularly, those are 10 schools in Bien Hoa city, 3 in Trang Bom
district, 4 in Thong Nhat district, 1 in Dinh Quan district and 1 in Long Thanh
district.
Due to the fact that semi-pulic schools are faced with the problem of operating
expenditure and a lack of facilities and the fact that education law says
semi-public schools will be gradually closed and converted into public ones, the
conversion is necessary. Most of the conference participants agreed on the
contents of the project. However, for a more feasible project, Chairman of the
provincial People's Committee – Vo Van Mot demanded that Department of Education
and Training should check up on the implementation process to ensure that the
educational quality in the province is being improved.
It is known that the whole province currently has 770 schools including 247
pre-schools, 299 primary schools, 169 junior high schools and 55 high schools.
Besides, the public school system has 690 schools (including 206 pre-schools,
293 primary schools, 157 junior high schools and 34 high schools). Thus, there
are 1.4 pre-schools, 1.7 primary schools and 0.9 junior high school on average
in each commune and ward and 5 high schools in each district, town and city.
