Meaningful activities for children

With the theme “Safety for children to live and develop” together with the whole nation, the Month of Action for children in Dong Nai province this year will be held on May 5 – June 30, attracting the participation of all levels, sectors, organizations, and individuals who take care of children and protect their interests properly.

Huynh Thi Nghia-Deputy Director of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Department said that there are more than 700,000 children under 16 years of age in Dong Nai province (nearly accounting for 30% of the province’s population). Many urgent matters have increased and developed in a complicated manner: children have not been registered the birth, children have dropped out of schools (about 3,000-4,000 ones), and children have been treated badly. Therefore, the purpose of the Month of Action for Children this year is to popularize strong awareness in children protection and development for all walks of life.

She added that the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs will collaborate with press agencies to produce the reportage of street children in order to support them. Besides, consulting centre for children will be established to answer the questions of children and families.
