Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee is burning incense at Tran
Bien Temple of Literature |
In addition to the main activity, a fireworks display, many other recreational
activities like music performance, lion and dragon dance, movie showings, etc.
were organized for those who welcomed the New Year at the temple. On the first
day of the first lunar month, at 12:00 a.m, fireworks clusters were fired into
the sky, above the lake right in front of the temple, in an atmosphere filled
with people’s joy and happiness to welcome a new year. In 2010, apart from the
fireworks show at Tran Bien Temple of Literature, another one – as an occasion
for people to welcome and enjoy a traditional Tet – was hosted in Xuan Loc
district.

Fireworks display on New Year’s Eve |
On New Year’s Eve, a television bridge to connect many places was established by
Dong Nai Radio and Television. The scenes in which people across the province
cheerfully welcomed the New Year were shot and transmitted via the bridge.
Besides performing the ritual of burning incense to pray for a peaceful country
and people’s stable settlement and to commemorate predecessors and deceased
martyr-heroes, Dong Nai leadership paid a visit to and gave wishes to agencies
and organizations who were on duty on New Year’s Eve. Through the TV bridge,
Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee, Vo Van Mot, wished all people in Dong
Nai a new year with joy, security and happiness. Also, he hoped that all the
Party, army and people would continue revolutionary traditions, overcome
difficulties and complete 2010 targets and tasks successfully.
