Vice
chairman of Dong Nai People's Council - Huynh Chi Thang makes a
speech at the meeting |
In the third
quarter, the Standing Committee of Dong Nai People’s Council went on many tours
of inspection in collaboration with the Standing Committees of People’s Council
in the province. The inspection covered many areas: interest-free loan packages,
resettlement compensation, environmental protection; major transport projects,
water and electricity price support programs for poor households, workers and
students in the boarding houses in Bien Hoa city and Long Thanh and Nhon Trach
districts. Simultaneously, the Standing Committee of Dong Nai People’s Council
and the Standing Committees of People’s Council of districts had a lot of
meetings with voters before and after the Congress of Dong Nai People's Council
to handle people’s accusation and complaint letters.
Under
inspection, many issues were settled. Especially, the inspection revealed that
interest-free loans packages according to the Decision no. 497/QD-TTg was being
implemented slowly in districts. The eight localities’ reports showed that few
loans had been given the past nine months of 2009. Particularly, the four
districts: Vinh Cuu, Nhon Trach, Xuan Loc and Long Khanh have made loans of
VND1.537 billion only to 24 customers. Tan Phu, Dinh Quan and Cam My have 679
households applying for loans worth VND20 billion but these loans haven’t been
disbursed. In addition, none of the households in Thong Nhat district have
received loans.
Addressing the
meeting, Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee – Vo Van Mot proposed that the
Standing Committees of People’s Council at all levels should pay more attention
to their inspection, especially maintaining social security and promoting
socio-economic development of the province.
