The 1st Congress of Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association (2009-2014) in Dong Nai province: Mr. Do Dang Tuoc holds the post of the President of the Association

On the morning of June 26, the 1st Congress of Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association (2009-2014) took place at the hall of the provincial Party Committee. The Congress was attended by Mr. Thetlakhone Douangsonthi – Consulate General of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Ho Chi Minh city, Mr. Tran Minh Phuc – Member of the provincial Standing Party Committee and Vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Lien – Member of the provincial Standing Party Committee and Chairwoman of Dong Nai province’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and more than 190 delegates who are the members of the Association.

The Congress listened to the reports of the Mobilization Commission for the
founding of the Association and the guidelines of the Association of the 1st
Congress. Up to now, the Commission has mobilized 218 people to participate in
the Association. During the first term of the Congress, the Association will
promote the spirit of patriotism and socialism and the spirit of the members who
are good examples of maintaining their political spirit and ethical standards,
following the Party’s guidelines and obeying the the government’s law, foster
the relationship between its members, strengthen the solidarity, relations and
friendship between Vietnam and Laos, in which the Association branches and its
members are a bridge to link the two countries and maintain a special
solidarity, a constant and loyal friendship and a full cooperation between the
two peoples and two governments – Vietnam and Laos –politically, economically,
culturally and socially to develop the cooperative relations between the two
countries in a new period.
The Congress conducted a negotiation and nominated 15 people to the
first-session Executive Committee of the Association. At the 1st Congress, the
Executive Committee elected five members to the Standing Committee. Mr. Do Dang
Tuoc holds the post of the President of the Association.
