Mr. Le
Hong Phuong makes a speech at the meeting |
In first half
of 2009, Dong Nai’s National Assembly Delegation has been engaged in many
important tasks such as legislation, inspection and survey. The Standing
Committee of National Assembly, National Council and the Committees of National
Assembly have carried out these tasks in Dong Nai. Also, they conducted two
special inspections of policies, law enforcement, food quality control and food
hygiene and safety and of how social insurance funds were managed and spent in
Dong Nai for two years (2007 and 2008). Besides, the delegation had 23 meetings
with 3,237 voters, met with 201 people, received and handled 328 public letters
of complaint and accusation. Particularly, at the recent session of National
Assembly, Dong Nai’s National Assembly Delegation timely reflected on the urgent
matters that voters concern themselves with in the forum of National Assembly.
All members of the delegation put forward their ideas at the session. There were
32 ideas given in group discussions and in the discussions at the hall. However,
inspection work hasn’t been done in some areas and cooperative regulations
between Dong Nai’s National Assembly Delegation, People’s Council, People’s
Committee and Fatherland Front Committee haven’t been introduced to increase
operational efficiency.
One of the
principal tasks that Dong Nai’s National Assembly Delegation has undertaken in
the second half of 2009 is to focus on renovating the way it works and listens
to voters’ ideas. Particularly, it is necessary to have more meetings with
voters in their neighborhood and have a talk with voters about special subjects
on the agenda of National Assembly so that voters’ reflections and suggestions
will be handled timely. In addition, the delegation will foster its cooperation
with the Standing People’s Council, People’s Committee and Dong Nai’s Vietnam
Fatherland Front Committee for the purpose of fulfilling its functions and tasks
successfully and of improving its operational efficiency.
Addressing the
meeting, Mr. Le Hong Phuong stressed that to promote its roles, the delegation
is required to pay a special attention to its renovation work. Particularly, in
terms of gathering public opinions on draft bills, it is a requirement to choose
matters of great concern and then take them into consideration. It is also a
necessity to cooperate closely with concerned departments, sectors and
localities before and after having meetings with voters so that their enquiries
will be responded, to receive people’s letters of complaint and accusation and
to handle them quickly and effectively.
