During the
meeting, the Steering Committee members listened to the report on the
implementation progress of the project on converting the province’s biotech
center into a bio and high-tech park and gathered departments and sectors’ ideas
for completion and submission to the Prime Minister. The Park is located on an
over-200-hectare area in Cam My district and has a total investment of more than
VND840 billion. It is divided into two phases: phase 1 – from now to 2015 and
phase 2 – from 2015 to 2020. The project is aimed at the research work and
application of biotech achievements to the production in the fields of local and
regional agriculture, health and environment. The project is expected to attract
and provide employment for approximately 10,000 highly skilled workers after
going into operation.
