scale detail planning of Bio-tech Centre |

According to the report made by Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology,
the construction project of Dong Nai bio-technology centre has been carried on
the basis of natural conditions and related common plans. The project has
proposed to build functional sub-regions to meet the demands of local residents
in production, business and scientific research activities.
The
project will take full advantage of location, natural conditions and
infrastructure, etc. The bio-tech centre is aimed to serve the development of
science and technology in the locality and neighbouring areas with such
functions as: applying advanced biotechnologies to
diagnoses of diseases and preventive medicine, and environment protection;
helping create a link between research establishments and farmers and
businesses; attracting the participation of experts, scientists, and senior
managers in building the bio-tech centre; training scientific staff and
technicians to improve their professional skills in bio-technology;
commercializing biotechnology products; and supporting equipment and machines as
well as effective methods of biotechnology application for plants, enterprises
and other centres in the province. Dong Nai People’s Committee approved the
construction of infrastructure facility for the centre.

The
bio-tech centre will be divided into 2 phases (phase 1: from now to 2015, and
phase 2: from 2016 to 2020). When completing and being put into operation, the
centre will generate about 6,000-10,000 jobs in Cam My District and other
districts.
Addressing at the working session, Vice Chairman Tran Van Vinh asked leader of
Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology to open to new ideas of 2
Ministries (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and Ministry of
Science and Technology) for adjustments related to the project; to study
construction areas; to get approval and cooperation from some districts,
research centres and universities in the province; and to rapidly submit the
total investment cost to the provincial People’s Committee.
