The investment project approved by the Transport
Ministry was built under the build-operate-transfer (BOT) form. As planned, the
road route has a total length of 99km. It will start at Ho Chi Minh city-Long
Thanh-Dau Giay highway and end at the intersection of National Road No.1 and My
Thanh (Ba Bau – Binh Thuan). The proposed highway will have six lanes, each of
which is 3.75km wide, with 4 lanes to be built in the first phrase for the
entire route. The six-lane road is designed for vehicles with a maximum speed of
120 kilometers per hour.
Addressed at the meeting, Vice Chairman Tran Van
Vinh said that the road route has been basically approved, so the project needs
to be early conducted to minimize the traffic density on the National Road No.1.
At the same time, planning Xuan Loc industrial zone along the highway should be
considered to secure the implementation of this project.
